The Master of Human Resource Management comprises twelve units across 4 parts (plus electives). Each unit is worth 6 credit points.
Part A. Contemporary application
These units provide coverage of theories, models and frameworks to apply to the contemporary practice of human resource management. They are designed to introduce foundational knowledge of key human resource management activities.
Part B. Advanced application
The focus of these units is to deepen and extend understanding and practice of contemporary human resource management. They are designed to provide advanced knowledge of complex human resource management challenges and practical approaches to engage with them effectively.
Part C. Professional application
The focus of these units provides opportunities for students to apply knowledge to their professional practice. The units feature professional development, application of HRM knowledge in practice and opportunities for students to direct their learning to thrive and maintain currency in an uncertain business environment.
Part D. Industry project
You must complete one or both of the following units.

Synopsis: Contemporary human resource management (HRM) practice is increasingly relying on data to inform an organisation’s HR strategy. Digitalisation and existing business systems in organisations can hold an abundance of people related data sets which can be used to generate insights and evidence for effectively managing a workforce. This unit introduces data analytics concepts in the context of HRM and people management. You will learn how modern analytical tools can be used to visualise and meaningfully communicate insights from HR-centric data and how predictive analytics can be applied to various areas HRM (e.g. predicting employee attrition).

Enhancing wellbeing is of benefit to both individuals and organisations. This unit introduces you to determinants of workplace health and how an understanding of organisational psychology principles can be applied to address organisational issues and generate interventions which enhance the mental health and wellbeing of individuals and teams in the workplace. You will also learn about assessing and cultivating physical and psychological safety in the workplace.
Disability and inclusive practice

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (2022) estimates that 1 in 6 Australians live with a disability. In this unit you will further your understanding of ableism, disability and inclusive practice, and the intersection between mental health and disability.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills that are relevant to working in varied contexts with people who have lived and living experience of disability and those who support them. This learning will be positioned within key frameworks to allow for a thorough examination of societal barriers, such as access to services and employment, and possible solutions to better facilitate the inclusion of people with lived experience of disabilities.
This unit will assist you to appreciate the complex impacts of disability and work towards more inclusive practices.

IPA will be external focus. IPB students will focus on their own organisation or choose one that they have access to.
Global challenge
